We're excited to announce that Ben Cormack will be speaking at the next Le Pub Scientifique.
Ben asks, "Should we consider more than just the meat and gristle with exercise?"
Come and join Ben as he looks at movement and exercise through a pain science lens. This lecture will explore the multitude of factors associated with the experience of pain that affects how people move and how much they are willing to move.
Movement is so much more than a physical act, it is a representation of our previous experiences, emotions and future predictions. In fact many of the positive effects from movement and exercise might not be associated with the physical and these factors will be highlighted and explored.
One of the biggest challenges may not be what to get people to do but help them understand why they are doing it, how it will help and how they are going to get it done. These psychosocial elements are often under discussed in modern rehabilitation.
Ben will get down and dirty with these topics over a pint or three!
